NSTA Learning Center

The National Science Teachers Association offers professional development for teachers and administrators through the Learning Center, an economical, accountable, and versatile option for faculty in your schools, districts, and state. NSTA is the largest professional organization in the world promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all; membership includes more than 60,000 science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in science education.

User Role

All users with the role of teacher or administrator now have access to a set of free resources from the NSTA Learning Center integrated within netTrekker. Teachers/Administrators from schools with NSTA content upgrade subscriptions have access to an additional resource set beyond the free set.

NSTA Learning Center resources are only available to netTrekker users who are registered as teachers or who have been assigned the administrator role. To learn how to change your role from student to teacher, please click here.

Login or Registration

Whether teachers/administrators belong to a netTrekker school which has purchased the NSTA Learning Center content upgrade package or not, when they first click on an NSTA resource in netTrekker, they will be required to either log in (if they have an existing NSTA username and password) or complete a short one-time registration to access NSTA resources. This registration consists of entering first and last name, email address (which is the username) and a password. When registering as a new NSTA user, the password may be, but does not have to be, the same password used to access netTrekker. After they complete the registration, they will have access to the NSTA content.

Custom Content Settings

On the registration page, the registrant is provided with information regarding netTrekker's Preferences page. In the message they will be prompted to return to netTrekker's Preferences page to insert their NSTA credentials so that the next time they seek access to NSTA content, they will not have to log in. Teachers/administrators will see a new area on the Preferences page called Custom Content Settings. It is within these settings that they enter the same information that they provided on the NSTA Learning Center registration. Teachers/administrators from schools which have the NSTA content upgrade package will also see a place to enter their PromoCode.

NSTA Learning Center content upgrade resources are only available to teachers and administrators in schools which have purchased the NSTA content upgrade. When a subscribing entity chooses the NSTA content upgrade, it also defines how many seat licenses it wants to purchase for the NSTA Learning Center content upgrade resources. Teachers/Administrators will receive a PromoCode from their NSTA administrator to allow them access to the NSTA upgraded resources.

Teachers/Administrators will find NSTA Learning Center resources integrated with other resources in Search Results pages. They can also be accessed by using the Collections Refinement Menu.
