Example: Searching with the Dynamic Timeline


Let's say you want to explore a U.S. History timeline concerning the post World War II period:

1. Go to the Dynamic Timeline home page by clicking on Timeline in the Features toolbox at the right of each page.

2. On the new page, select the U.S. History timeline from the High School Timeline.

3. A timeline is generated encompassing some of the more prevalent eras, events, arts, innovations and discoveries, and famous people throughout U.S. History. You can expand and/or contract different areas of the timeline depending on your interest; or narrow the scope of the timeline by era, event or famous person by clicking on the timeline icon ( ) when it appears. Click on the timeline icon located next to the World War II and Cold War era.

4. Add a layer by selecting "Chemistry," and click Add Layer.
    Add another layer by selecting "Physics," and click Add Layer again.

    A new page is displayed where the "Events," Innovations/Discoveries," and "Famous People" categories now have added items with black and white dots next to them.

7. Click on "Nuclear Reactors" in the Innovations/Discoveries section to go to a Search Result page listing websites about the Nuclear Reactors.

8. If your Search Result is more than one page, use the page number links or "next >" and "< previous" links at the bottom of the page to move from page to page.
