Change Read Aloud Preferences

Your Read Aloud text-to-speech preferences default to Voice: Lauren, and Speed: Normal. However, you can change the defaults for both the voice and the speed. Here's how:

• Click "Preferences"

Select "Preferences" from the My Account toolbox.

• Click on "Read Aloud Preferences"

netTrekker SEARCH allows you to choose which of three voices, and which of three speeds you would like to use.

• Select a Voice

Click on the drop-down box to select from the three voices available. You can listen to a sample of each voice by clicking on the link at the bottom the page which says, "Listen to a pregenerated sample of each voice here."

• Select a Speed

Choose the radio button for the speed at which you want the text to be read.

• Click

Once you have selected a preferred voice and/or speed, click this button to implement your change.

Example: Changing the Read Aloud Preference:

To ensure the Read Aloud will work on your computer, check your bandwidth by clicking "Check the bandwidth of you connection here." Limited bandwidth at your school or facility may contribute to longer loading time for Read Aloud passages.
