Defined STEM Resources

Defined STEM is Defined Learning's solution for providing real world relevance to students. Defined STEM is a web-based application designed to promote effective and relevant connections between 21st century learning skills and how those skills are used across all subjects and curriculum. Defined STEM offers over 1,000 Learning Connections to stimulate student understanding in science, math, engineering and technology studies and demonstrates how these subjects can be applied across all subjects. These Learning Connections offer a single point of entry into an array of media, providing both teacher-centered instruction and student-centered learning. This is accomplished by providing:

Career and curriculum based video used to explain core learning concepts and provide real world relevancy to 21st century learning skills
Performance Tasks that create a project-based environment where students are challenged to solve a situation using a multi-disciplinary approach
Learning Connections, which is a self contained unit, helps the teacher demonstrate relevance to students through real world applications; all aligned to state standards
Lesson plans and objectives that teachers can use to aid in the utilization of all the content in a Learning Connection

Subscribers will find Defined STEM resources integrated with other resources in Search Results pages. To find Defined STEM resources in a search result, look for the icon in the list of content icons at the bottom of an individual search result. You might also choose to open the Collections section of the Refine Search toolbox and click on the Defined STEM check box.

Defined STEM subscribers might also use the Advanced Search feature to find Defined STEM sites. Click on Advanced Search at the top of any page, then filter your search by Defined STEM in the Collections box.
