
The National Science Teachers Association offers professional development for teachers and administrators through the Learning Center, an economical, accountable, and versatile option for faculty in your schools, districts, and state. NSTA is the largest professional organization in the world promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all; membership includes more than 60,000 science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in science education.
All users with the role of teacher or administrator now have access to a set of free resources from the NSTA Learning Center integrated within netTrekker Search. Teachers/Administrators from schools with NSTA content upgrade subscriptions have access to an additional resource set beyond the free set.
NSTA Learning Center resources are only available to netTrekker Search users who are registered as teachers or who have been assigned the administrator role. To learn how to change your role from student to teacher, please click here.
Whether teachers/administrators belong to a netTrekker Search organization which has purchased the NSTA Learning Center content upgrade package or not, when they first click on an NSTA resource in netTrekker Search, they will be required to either log in (if hey have and existing NSTA username and password) or complete a short one-time registration to access NSTA resources. This registration consists of entering first and last name, email address (which becomes the username) and a password. When registering as a new NSTA user, the password may be, but does not have to be, the same password used to access netTrekker Search. After they complete the registration, they will have access to the NSTA content.
On the registration page, registrants are provided with information rgarding netTrekker Search's Preferences page. In the message they will be prompted to return to netTrekker Search's Preference page to insert their NSTA credentials so that the next time they seek to access to NSTA content, they will not have to log in. Teachers/administrators will see a new area on the Preferences page called Content Partner Settings. It is within these settings that they enter the same information that they provided on the NSTA learning Center registration. Teachers/administrators from schools which have the NSTA content upgrade package will also see a place to enter their PromoCode.

NSTA Learning Center content upgrade resources are only available to teachers and administrators in organizations which have purchased the NSTA content upgrade. When a subscribing organizations chooses the NSTA content upgrade, it also defines how many seat licenses it wants to purchase for the NSTA learning Center content upgrade resources. Teachers/Administrators will receive a PromoCode from their netTrekker Search administrator to allow them access to the NSTA upgraded resources.
NsSTA Learning Center subscribers will find NSTA Learning Center resources integrated with other resources in Search Result pages, as well as having NSTA Learning Center listed under collections in the Content Details for a resource.
In addition, there are two ways to refine a search to focus on NSTA Learning Center resources. Users can select NSTA Learning Center from the Collections list in the Refinement menu. They might also use the More Search Options feature to find NSTA Learening Center sites. Click on More Search Options at the top of any page, then filter the search by NSTA Learning Center in the Collections box.
